1. Service Agreement
These Terms and Conditions govern all packing, loading, transportation, storage, and unloading services provided by House 2 House Packers and Movers ("Company", "We", "Us"). By confirming a booking verbally, digitally, or through partial/full payment, the client ("Customer", "You") agrees to abide by these terms.
2. Quotation & Payment Terms
- Quotation Validity: All official estimates provided by House 2 House Packers and Movers are valid for 15 days from the issue date unless specified otherwise.
- Advance Booking Fee: A token advance payment (typically 10%–20%) is required to lock in your moving date and schedule transport vehicles.
- Balance Payment: 70% of the remaining balance is payable upon completion of loading at the origin point. The remaining balance must be cleared prior to or immediately upon unloading at the destination.
- Additional Charges: Quotes are based on the inventory list provided during survey. Extra charges apply for unquoted items, heavy safe movements, staircase lifting beyond 2nd floor (where lift is unavailable/prohibited), or extended vehicle waiting time caused by client delays.
3. Prohibited & Restricted Items
For safety and legal compliance, House 2 House Packers and Movers strictly prohibits the transport of the following items:
- Explosives, firearms, ammunition, fireworks, or inflammable liquids (petrol, diesel, kerosene, paint thinners).
- Pressurized gas cylinders, matches, or corrosive chemicals.
- Perishable food items subject to rapid spoilage during transit.
- Contraband, illegal substances, or items prohibited under Indian Motor Vehicle & Transport Acts.
- Cash, gold, silver, jewelry, share certificates, or high-value legal documents. Customers are instructed to carry personal valuables independently.
4. Client Responsibilities
- Building Approvals: Customers must obtain necessary permissions from apartment societies, gated communities, or local municipal traffic authorities for vehicle parking and elevator usage at both origin and destination.
- Pre-Moving Checks: Refrigerators and freezers must be defrosted and dry at least 12 hours before packing. Fuel tanks of 2-wheelers/cars must be drained to minimum reserve levels.
- Inventory Sign-off: The customer or an authorized representative must be present during packing, loading, and unloading to verify the itemized packing list and sign the consignment note.
5. Transit Insurance & Damage Claims
Transit insurance is strongly recommended for all long-distance and inter-state shifts. Transit insurance covers risk against road accidents, fire, rollover, or theft during transit as per insurance policy guidelines.
- Self-Packed Items: If boxes or electronics are packed directly by the customer, damage claims are limited to external container damage only.
- Claim Window: Any visible loss or breakage must be reported on the official consignment delivery note at the time of unloading and submitted in writing within 48 hours of delivery.
6. Jurisdiction & Governing Law
These terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India. Any legal disputes or arbitrations arising from our relocation services shall fall under the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts in Salem District, Tamil Nadu.
